The quality of your donor hair plays a major role in the long-term success of a hair transplant.

If the follicles in the donor area are already weakened or miniaturized, their long-term survival may be compromised even after they are transplanted. 

This includes situations such as:

• thinning hair
• miniaturized follicles
• scalp inflammation
• dandruff, itchiness, or microbial imbalance
  
  

Even after transplantation, these follicles may still be vulnerable to ongoing hormonal factors such as DHT, or to a persistently unhealthy scalp environment.

If your hair loss has already reached an advanced stage, the number of strong donor grafts may also become limited. 

This can lead to:

• lower achievable density
• more visible scalp
• the need for more conservative planning
• more realistic expectations about what “successful” results look like
  
  

In general, strong, thick terminal hairs from healthy follicular units provide better coverage and better long-term value, while miniaturized hairs are more likely to weaken over time, even after transplantation.
